The Golden Oath

The Golden Oath was founded after the 996th edition of Armageddon, a union of champions formed by the tournament's victors. Each member entered the games driven by personal motives, yet by the end, they chose to forge an unprecedented alliance, the first time in history that all winners joined forces as one. Before a captivated audience, they vowed to journey across the world to aid those in need.
For the next two and a half years, The Golden Oath was said to have traversed the entire world, uncovering every hidden secret, blessing, and curse, a path that would ultimately lead to their downfall. Between the 998th and 999th editions of the Armageddon tournaments, all members of The Golden Oath fell victim to some kind of curse, possibly a consequence of years spent meddling with forbidden items and secrets.
All, that is, except Riku Tanaka, "The Honored Blade."
Riku fought against his former allies, determined to stop them from using their gifts against the same people they vowed to protect. The battle ended in a stalemate, with the remaining members of The Oath fleeing. In recognition of his loyalty, the kings awarded Riku the honor of becoming their personal warrior, entrusted with the task of defending the world from its threats.
